Description

By Theis Christopherson

An unbiased eye witness report on the real life in a concentration camp. The author was an agronomist who was sent to Auschwitz during the war. He was a staff member and his task was to cultivate plants to be used in the production of natural rubber. Telling his story has cost him dearly. He was imprisoned for it. This sacrifice would have been easily avoidable for a man of less integrity, for if he had decided to agree to the orthodox version of war time history he could have remained at liberty. The fact that he insisted on revealing exactly what he saw, and knew to be true, without speculation, marks him out as a courageous and remarkable man. Free speech does not exist in the Germany of today where dissident voices are silenced mercilessly. Introduction by Manfred Roeder
