The author was originally a Labour Member of Parliament. He joined Oswald Mosley and the British Union of Fascists and became a prominent writer and speaker at meetings all over the country. He was imprisoned during the Second World War without charge or trial. Later he joined the British Peoples Party which was led by the Duke of Bedford.
