Ivor Benson was a professional journalist who worked for many major newspapers both in South Africa and in Britain. His home was in Africa and through various publications he fought for the maintenance of white rule. He regarded the main forces that were pushing the white man out of Africa as being concerned not with the welfare of the blacks, but as representatives of the "money power" who wanted access to the raw materials and cheap labour that existed in Africa.
