This booklet is a study of the contribution to aviation history by supporters of British Union. Also some accounts of British Union's part in the air war between 1939-1945.
The deaths of the two men whose names appeared on the first casualty list of WWII are gone into some detail. They were Aircraftmen George Brocking and Kenneth Day, both air gunners with No 9 Squadron, who were killed on the second day of the war in an anti shipping raid on Brunsbuttel in which several Vickers Wellington bombers were shot down.
Amongst the personalities mentioned in the text are included Alliott Verdan Roe, the aviation pioneer who founded A.V. Roe and Co. Roe also became a regular columnist in the BUF Press. Another man was Captain Marendaz who built and designed aircraft and was an expert on diesel engines. He was also the owner of Barton-le-Clay aerodrome just North of Luton, Bedfordshire. which was used as a flying training school during the war.
Other personalities covered include: Air Commodore Sir John Chamier who was largely responsible for the founding of the Air Training Corps.
Geoffrey Dorman was assistant editor of The Aeroplane weekly magazine. He became a well known writer on aviation matters and at one time was also editor of Action which was one of the fascist newspapers.
Many other men with aviation connections are included with mini biographies..
The Gloucester Flying and Gliding Club, which was largely run by British Union members is covered and some photos are provided.
