By John Amery
The introduction to this booklet was written by Dr. E.R. Fields, the editor of The Truth at Last, in the USA.
John Amery was the son of Leopold Amery who was a leader in the Conservative Party and the Secretary of State for India. John Amery's brother, Julian, saw action with the partisans in Yugoslavia.
John Amery had seen some action during the Spanish Civil and had been an emissary for General Franco to Jaques Doriet's French People's Party.
In 1940 he was living in France when the Germans were victorious there. In 1942 he moved to Germany and went to work for Radio Berlin. In 1943 he proposed and was allowed to set up The Legion of St. George for British Prisoners of War. They were intended to be used in the fighting on the Eastern Front against the communists. They were later renamed Der Britische Freikorps. This book, which was written in 1943, was aimed primarily at potential recruits.
He talks of the cause of the war, about the madness, as he saw it, of the West's alliance with the USSR. He spoke about the likely outcome of the war for Britain, whether a winner or a loser. He proposed an armistace
He had an obsession regarding the role of international Jewery in all these things. He proposed, as a solution, the setting up of a national home for the Jews in a large and rich part of the British Empire - but he makes clear that Palestine not suitable as it belonged to another people and its use as a national home for Jews would mean their dispossession.
John Amery ws executed after the war for treason.
